Flow Through Time: A Yoga Fundraiser for the Bytown Museum

with Ellen Bertrand, in collaboration with The Bytown Museum

Celebrate local heritage with a morning of yoga at one of Ottawa's most historic locations - all in support of the Bytown Museum.

Join Ellen Bertrand, founder of Yoga Kāla, experienced Ottawa yoga teacher, local tour guide, and a member of the Bytown Museum’s Board of Directors, for a one-hour, all-levels yoga class in a truly unforgettable setting.

Weather permitting, the class will take place outdoors behind the museum, at the foot of the Ottawa Locks, with breathtaking views of the Ottawa River, the Rideau Canal, and surrounding historic architecture. In case of rain, the class will move inside the Bytown Museum, Ottawa’s oldest stone building, nestled at the foot of Parliament Hill.

After the class, enjoy light refreshments and early access to the museum before public hours.

Tickets are $45 per person (includes a $30 tax receipt), with all proceeds supporting the Bytown Museum’s preservation and programming initiatives.

petals & Presence

with Ellen Bertrand

Venture out of town and into the lush countryside for a day of movement, creation and community at White Barn Blooms, a small woman-owned cut-flower farm.

After a warm welcome and light refreshment, we'll settle in for a one-hour all-levels outdoor yoga practice with a view of the flower gardens. The practice will ground your body, calm your mind, and open your senses. Afterwards, we’ll be treated to a personalized tour of the flower gardens by Liza, owner of White Barn Blooms. She’ll talk about the flowers, bouquet creation and how her flower farm came to be. We’ll then select and hand cut our own blooms to create a stunning personal bouquet that reflects our unique sense of beauty and presence. We'll wrap up our time together in conversation and with a light lunch of locally-sourced ingredients and floral accents from Flora Kitchenette.

Please bring your yoga mat and your favourite yoga props, a water bottle, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen. A combo event + prop rental ticket is available should you not want to bring your own props.

Please advise us of any dietary requirements at hello@yogakala.ca
